What I have learnt is that I can never get complacent or arrogant with any amount of time in sobriety. Every morning I have to get up and re-set my sobriety date to ‘zero’ and start with the belief that I will be able to stay focused on the good things in my life, love and be kind to the people who matter in my life and see the good side of everyone who I come into contact with. If I fail on any one of these, my warped mind will take over and I know where that will take me.

You are right on Vikram, right on. This illness is a deadly and progressive disease and my recovery needs to be progressive, as well. If I don’t continue to grow in my recovery, I will become complacent and that means bad things. Tom G.
