Recovery Plus to add 25-bed facility to treat adolescents

The first step in recovery is admitting you have a problem, and Recovery Plus has a problem — a lack of space and a growing demand for its services — but not for long. The St. Cloud Hospital unit that treats drugs and alcohol abuse has recently begun construction on a 25-bed adolescent residential treatment facility south of Stearns County Road 134. 

 

“The facility is being built adjacent to Clara’s House and will reduce costs by eliminating the need to transport clients back and forth between Clara’s House and the Children’s Home,” said Andra Van Kempen, CentraCare Health System communications specialist.

 

Adolescents needing residential services during treatment are now housed in 12 beds located miles away at the Children’s Home through a cooperative agreement with Catholic Charities.  

 

“The proximity to Clara’s House also gives students access to the gym and therapeutic arts program located at this site,” she said of the new facility. Read More…
