Country singer Mindy McCready has been committed to a rehab facility for alcohol and prescription drug abuse. The Department of Human Services has taken her two sons Zander, age 6, and Zayne, 9 months, into protective custody.

E! News reports McCready’s father, Tim McCready, filed the petition that resulted in her being ordered substance abuse and mental health evaluations for up to three weeks.

McCready’s father wrote of her dangerous behavior when pleading to the court to do something. He alleged she wasn’t taking care of herself or her sons ever since boyfriend David Wilson shot himself in January.

“Since boyfriend (David Wilson) shot himself she has been in bed for 3 wks. Sleeps all day. Drinks all night and is taking Rx drugs. Not bathing or even helping take care of her 2 children.”

Fox News also reports McCready has attempted hitting him and “screams about everything.”

“[She] is not making any sense of [any] conversations with anyone. Very verbally abusive to Zander (6) son.”

The courts approved her father’s petition and deemed the singer may be suicidal. Article Link…
